There are days were you are just off. You seem to be in a daze.

Your week seemed to be going so well.

You were in the zone and everything just kept working out effortlessly.

Then Wednesday morning you woke up and felt plain weird.

Is it some dark cloud?

You probably think so but it really isn’t.

What you are experiencing is burnout. Most people think that means to take it easy.

Instead of taking that day off.

They end up just taking their foot off the peddle for the rest of the week.

Before they know it their performance is way down.

Know what I’m talking about?

You’ve been working out 5 days a week. Constantly making improvements and then BAM one day you just stop going.

One day goes by…

Three days goes by…

A week goes by…

Then all of a sudden you hit the gym again, but have to work your way up again.

Preventing burnout it super easy.

You are learning not only how to prevent burnout in business. You are learning how to prevent burnout in every area of your life.

You will be able to impose your will.

Happiness and fulfillment will be yours.

I know this sounds crazy, but you really can control this.

Just like you control most of your life.

1,2,3 Burnout

Understanding burnout is as easy as counting. Once you grasp what you’re learning here, you will laugh.

During this article you will become aware of the following:

  • You Control Your Life
  • You Can Turn Your Switch On/Off
  • Burning Out Is Under Your Control
  • How To Be On 24/7

Before we begin, I want you to say to say something to yourself…

I Am In Control. My Life Is Mine.

Repeat that three times.

I Am In Control. My Life Is Mine.

I Am In Control. My Life Is Mine.

I Am In Control. My Life Is Mine.

Okay good.

You are now ready to move forward. Keep the above two sentences in your head.

What Causes Burnout?

Burnout is caused by a number of things, but luckily they are all under your control.

Remember: “I Am In Control. My Life Is Mine.

Let me tell you a story about myself that you will relate to.

Not long ago before I regained my excitement towards life, I couldn’t think straight.

I would sit in front of my laptop to write. Words would’t flow onto the screen.

I would try to talk to a girl. Conversations were almost nonexistent.

I would talk with potential business partners. My ideas wouldn’t be communicated clearly to them.

To say the least I had burned myself out.

How?

Because I went against what you’re about to learn.

Because I increased my work by 300%.

My days became 20 hours days.

7 days a week I was hustling.

My grounds-keeping gig became six days a week. Not only that, but I was putting out content on Calm and Collected. Videos, articles, and now podcasts.

To add even more to my plate, I started looking into other ventures. I ended up hiring a writer for a side project.

Now while all of these other things were going on I was also doing more.

I’ve been building my offline network so that I have influential people in my circle. Looking for girls to give me that feminine energy. All the while being a Young Hustler.

Do I regret being a Young Hustler?

Heck no I’d have it no other way. I can’t imagine myself being anything other than a hustler. Depending on others is for losers.

(CLICK RETWEET I’D APPRECIATE IT)

But as I said I allowed myself to burnout. My mind became clouded and in a daze. It was like being high on drugs without even using them. My mind just wasn’t there.

My money increased to where I was making more than ever before.

Socially I was meeting more people.

My brand was growing. To someone on the outside looking in, I seemed to be on top of the world.

But really I was worse off than I had been in a while.

Mentally I was off. Emotionally I was cold. Physically I was tired.

How could I just burnout at the height of everything?

Simple, but I won’t answer it now.

It doesn’t really matter.

What matters is that you learn and apply what you are about to read.

A Young Hustlers Guide To Kicking Burnout To The Curb

Okay you have read enough. You are excited to learn now. Just imagining being able to be in the zone at Will excites you.

As a Young Hustler you pride yourself with making things happen.

While others settle for less, you only accept the best.

Here are the basics of preventing burnout:

  1. Focus On What You Gain
  2. Start The Day Off Right
  3. Control Your State
  4. Take Care Of Yourself (Mind/Body/Spirit)
  5. Celebrate Your Achievements (Even The Small Ones)

Take Care Of Yourself

Obviously you must take care of yourself in order to perform at your best. But when you are so focused, you let certain things slip.

Your diet can get filled with cheap and fast foods.

Working out goes to the side.

You forget to show people that you appreciate them being in your life.

Spiritually you may become cold as you even forget to take time to Enlighten your Spirit.

All of these things are in your control. You are in control. Life is yours to make of it however you like.

Say This To Yourself:

I Am In Control. My Life Is Mine.

The best way to take care of yourself is to start with the foundation. Get your diet filled with good and clean foods. Make sure to workout no less than three times a week.

Cardio and weight-lifting should be a part of every Young Hustlers life.

You don’t have to be John Doe Bodybuilding, but you do need to be healthy.

I’m not lean or even in GREAT shape, but I don’t look terrible.

I let myself go and ended up looking like this:

Did I just sit around?

Heck no!

I took matters into my own hands. Diet and working out became my daily life.

As of 8/20/2016 I have gone from 230lbs to 194lbs.

dylan-madden-before-and-after

Guess what happened once I got my health in check?

My mind also improved. I felt in control and confident. Emotionally I was happy and couldn’t be brought down.

Spiritually I even felt better.

Here is a quick checklist for you:

  • Workout At Least 3 Times A Week
  • Have A Solid Diet Full of GREAT Food
  • Show People You Appreciate Them
  • Read/Listen To Inspirational Content
  • Be Grateful For What You Have
  • Enlighten Your Spirit (Get Your Soul Back)

That’s it for taking care of yourself. The rest is simple common sense.

Focus On What You Gain

When you are starting to feel off and burned out  with whatever you’re working on. Job, Gym, Business, Relationship. It is due to you focusing on the work itself instead of the benefits of what you’ll gain.

By simply shifting your focus, you will seem to magically be back in the zone.

If you find yourself at work hating it and just feeling off, instead focus on what you are gaining. You are getting experience. You are getting money. You are meeting new people.

If you find yourself not being able to create content. All you can think about is how you need to do XYZ. Instead shift your focus to the people who will be moved by your work. Think about the money that will be made.

I could go on with more and more examples, but you get the point.

With everything in your life pay attention to what you give attention to. Always be aware of where your attention is going.

A great book to refer to is Gorilla Mindset. Grab a copy on Amazon.

Start The Day Off Right

How you begin your day is SUPER important to how the rest of your day will go. If you wake up and immediately go to Facebook, you are setting yourself up for failure.

I begin my day the same 9/10 times. The one time I don’t is usually the day where I have a rough start to the day. Once I become aware, I shift my focus and come back to my world.

It doesn’t really matter what you do as long as you get in the routine of following something that gives you results. Not just any results, but results that make you successful.

There are many things you can do.

Here are a few:

It doesn’t matter which order you do it in. You could just do a one of those. Just find what really gets you ticking and do that. Get in the habit of doing it everyday.

Once you get in the routine, you will notice almost everyday is great.

No longer do you get stressed out and worried. Instead you are productive and get things done.

Control Your State

Since you are in control, that means you can control your state. If you are unhappy, you can make yourself happy. If you are unfocused, you can become hyper focused.

As you become more aware of yourself. You will learn how to control your state almost automatically. You will find yourself almost always happy and in a productive state of mind.

Life is really mental.

The pros constantly say, “Success Is A Mindset”.

From the minor success that I’ve seen so far along my journey that proves to be true.

Don’t overthink controlling your state. It is something that you will become better at the more you do it.

If you start to feel off, you will instead shift your focus and turn the switch on.

Celebrate Your Achievements

As a person of achievement you forget to celebrate your achievements. How do I know?

Because I see it all the time.

Young Hustlers get so caught up in playing the game that they forget to use their points to upgrade.

Learn to celebrate your achievements even if they are just small.

Maybe you got five more reps than you did yesterday. Celebrate it!

Or maybe you just made $200 with your side-hustle.

It doesn’t matter what it is. Get used to winning and achieving things.

When I say celebrate I don’t mean you have to go out and blow money. It could be something as simple as playing a video game or hanging out with a friend.

Just remember to celebrate or else you will burnout and become a robot.

A Hustler must be dynamic. You must be able to consistently produce results. If you don’t follow what you just learned you will burnout. If you burnout you become ineffective and waste time.

Go Out And Dominate Your Life

There you have it. I just gave you the keys to never burning out again. You can go out and Dominate your life.

Not just a few times a week. Not just for two weeks on and one week off.

You will Dominate 24/7. You are a Young Hustler and are making progress each and every day.

We will talk again soon.

Tune in next time for some more…

  1. Start with an idea of what you want to write. Then sit down type out the first paragraph. That’s how you get your mind ready to work.

  2. First of all I would like to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to
ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and
clear your mind prior to writing. I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Thank you!

  3. Aѡ, this was an eхtremely nice post. Finding the time and actual effort
to create a great article… bսt what cɑn I say… I put thingѕ off a whole lot and don’t seem to get
    nearly anything done.

  5. John I am glad you found my article. You are an Olympian. Just keep pushing and you will put yourself into a better position. I appreciate your comment.

Vert true the power is within us. Look forward to you getting started.

  6. Hi Dylan, thanks for the article. I was kinda down because life was not going good. To add the frustration I could not install some missing software and all the negative self talk I had in my mind.

After reading your article I become calm and clear headed. Actually I was sick of all the audio, video and ebook of personal development stuff because my life was not going well. I even lost my job this month but deep down I don’t want any job. So what I did was remain calm, try searching every where on the web, I manage to tick of on my to do list.

It was 10.30 PM, I was laying down when I read your article. I get up do my to do list, instead of waiting tommorow I continue working. Its 1.41 PM and I want to add something that we all already have the power within us, its all mindset followed by action. I going to start a blog soon because I have alot to share and good night guys.

  7. THIS IS IT, I NEEDED THIS, seem like your style is better, better flow, better everything.
Dude i am telling you, you have a great platform, the only thing missing is time. 2 years from now, no… even 6 month from now
you ll be on a different level.
    See ya

  8. Thanks Dylan for sharing your experience. I started reading your website a couple of months ago and your articles (and recently videos) really have helped me get out of my victim mindset.

  9. Actionable and easy to do. Thank you Dylan for this article

  10. 100% agree. If this had been around 4 years ago I wouldn’t have had to learn it all the hard way.

I’d be a lot further along than I am now.

The only thing I’d add is for the older young hustlers – if you’re over 25 and get burned out a lot faster than before, get your testosterone checked. 3 years of clean eating might not fix 23 years of dirty calories if you’ve trashed your hormones along the way.

Great work, Dylan. Inspirational and actionable at the same time.

  11. This article really spoke to me. Btw found out about this on fb
