When you become a Young Hustler things aren’t always secure. You’ll have ups and downs. That is just the life of a Young Hustler.

Once you charge into the Unknown. Once you bet on yourself and move forward. There isn’t anyone there to catch you.

It is you and the hustle.

You’ll have days where you don’t know what your next move should be.

Days where you don’t have any money but your bills are due.

These are the days that will make you or break you.

From morning until night the only thing that matters is your hustle.

You’ll consider going back to your old life. But then you’ll realize you didn’t have much of a life back then anyway.

The job, the girl, and hanging out on the weekends.

It never felt real to you.

You never fit in and you never will.

It’s time for you to be honest with yourself.

It’s on you to make your own path. To write your own script and play the game by your own rules.

You always knew it would be this way.

Deep within your soul, you knew that you had something more to offer the world. You wanted to make your family proud and live a life of freedom.

Of course, you want the nicer things.

But more importantly, you want to fill that void inside of you.

That void that nothing seems to fill. Video games never did it and smoking weed only made it worse.

Everything you’ve done up to this point was to run away from that feeling. You didn’t want to look at it in the face.

The last time you did you nearly died.

Its beastly eyes were intense and full of hatred.

But it is time for you to make peace with it.

You’ll never be happy until you do.

To make peace with the beast all you must do is look it directly in the eyes.

Don’t look away in fear.

Stare confidently into it.

Now for the hard part…

Embrace the beastly void. Embrace the Unknown and accept that you don’t have all of the answers. You’ll never have all of the answers.

Don’t let go quite yet.

At first, the beast will roar in anger. It will scratch you and try to kill you.

It isn’t used to you taking control. It wants to fill you with doubt and anxiety. That is the only way that it is able to rule you.

If you’re constantly in fear then you’ll never realize the truth. The truth is that the beast of the void has absolutely no real power over you.

You have the last word over what happens.

Your world is and always will be your will.

That is why it hated you. Knowing that it never could fully control you. Even in your darkest moments you always came through alright.

Once you have calmed the beast down it’s time to move forward. From time to time you’ll feel it wake up.

Ignore it and make your next move. If you’re reading this and you haven’t embraced the Unknown. This is your chance to do so.

You can keep living your life half open in a mild desperation. Making just enough money to get by. Coming home everyday to the same life.

But you know that isn’t what you really want. Stop trying to fit in with them. You’ve tried for years and look where you’re now.

How many times do you have to relive this day?

Enough is enough.

Make a decision right.

Not later when you get a second. That’s what you said last time.

Tell yourself with confidence that you won’t live like this anymore. Even if you don’t believe it, it doesn’t matter.

All that matters is that you make a decision to change.

It may take you several years before you fully commit. That is okay. You aren’t racing against me or anyone else.

This is your game and you’re the main character.

From here on out it is you and the hustle.

Make money online or offline.

Travel where you want.

Do whatever it is that you were once scared to do.

The beast of the void doesn’t control you any longer.

  1. “But nothing is as painful as staying somewhere you don’t belong.”

Very true George. Too many people stay in pain due to their lack of making a decision. Thanks for the comment.

  2. Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying somewhere you don’t belong.
    Enough is enough.
    Make a decision right now.
Thanks for writing this kick-ass article, Dylan.

  3. I love your metaphorical comparison on the beast to life. Life can be scary, stressful, even maddening at times, but every beast can be tamed.

It’s easier to give up than to actually live, but only when you actually live, and you take life by the reigns will you get what you want or need

Only the brave, the obsessed, and the real hustlers can conquer the beast, and rule the day. It will take time and effort, and blood, sweat and tears, but the reward of being your own master will be worth every ounce of effort.

Take control of your own life, before someone else tries to.

  4. “Burn your ships and conquer the land before you.”

Well said brother. Glad to see a fellow hustler out there making things happen.

  5. Great piece of fiery writing here. Iceland was the topic in the Uber ride today. Then came Uganda and then Guatemala.

How else will we get there? From a 9-5? I doubt it. Most people never do.

Burn your ships and conquer the land before you.

The only way is to hustle.

How else will I get to surf the waves at midnight when the lights are still out and the sun as well.

    Hustling.

    Thats how.

    Thanks for writing this.
