Do you just seem to always have thoughts of anxiety? Do you always hear that inner judge analyzing everything around you everywhere you go? Let me show you how to get out of your head.

I used to stress over the little things of life.

When I would go into a public place I would analyze everything from what someone was wearing to the place I was going to.

This plagued me for years. I would feel anxious and stay in my head more than I would be in the moment.

It didn’t matter if I was on top of the world in that current experience or at the bottom… I would analyze everything around me.

You might be asking is it bad to analyze what is around you and my answer is no it is not as long as you remember to be in the moment.

If you are not in the moment then you will get to a point where you over-analyze the situation, person, or life in general.

So how can you get out of your head?

I used to struggle with the idea of getting out of your head. I would scan multiple website’s for what they thought would allow me to get out of my head.

Google result after Google result I would still not have anymore of an idea as to how to get out of my head.

I would go on top of my roof and watch the sunset.

I would go to the beach and look at the expansiveness of the Atlantic Ocean.

I would experiment with drugs to attempt to get out of my head. Not knowing this wasn’t the solution and that you can actually get high naturally.

Basically none of those methods seemed to really get me out of my head and allow me to enjoy my life.

As for the purpose of this post I want you to take what I say and then try it. If it doesn’t work for you that is fine.

Does that mean something is wrong with you?

No, it simply means that you must tweak my methods or find something else that works better for you.

You see my friend you get too caught up in the process of doing that which you want to achieve and should instead just execute.

Decide that you want to get out of your head and then start doing it. As you begin executing you will achieve all that you want such as getting out of your head.

Let me begin by giving you some actionable methods that I have used and use to get out of my head.

Dylan’s Methods for getting out of your head:

Meditating for 10 minutes and beyond every day-

Meditation has been proven to reduce stress and increase well-being.

I have found from meditating for 5-10 minutes a day that I do not analyze as much throughout the day which allows me to be in the moment.

I usually only meditate for 5 minutes a day since that is all that I require but some people meditate for 10 minutes.

You can listen to peaceful music such as Om Chanting or you can clear your mind and become aware of your breathing.

I want you to meditate every night for at least 10 minutes for two weeks straight.

You will feel better after your first few sessions believe me.

At the end of the two weeks you can decide whether it is for you or not.

Writing a Journal

When I was around 15 I started writing in a journal but as the years passed I slowly stopped doing it as much.

It wasn’t until 2 months ago that I really started journaling again. There is not a set method on how to journal.

For me, it depends on what type of mood I am in. Some days I will write about goals and strategies that I have the will help me achieve what I want.

Other days I will just write in detail what happened that day.  Keep in mind that you are doing this to help yourself so do not overthink it.

If one night you just feel like writing a paragraph so be it. I have had nights where I will fill up 4 pages and then others where I hardly fill the page.

The great thing about journaling is it allows you to put your thoughts on paper and look at it from a 3rd person perspective. Journaling is one of my favorite ways to get out of my head so give it a try.

Perform High Intensity Workouts-

The way I perform High Intensity Workouts are by performing fast paced workouts for 20 minutes straight and then switch to less intense workouts.

From there I will switch back and forth until I decide to stop.

I usually get this almost euphoric feeling from doing High Intensity Workouts.

You should start doing these workouts because they allow you to relieve stress and clear your mind.

You will walk away from this feeling less anxious and have a sense of wellbeing.

Often times some of my best ideas come while performing these exercises.

As for a certain system of working out I will say just do whatever makes you sweat a lot.

There is not a set workout for you to perform, but here is what I do.

Some days I will alternate between the following:

  • 3 sets of 10 Bench Press- 145 lbs
  • 4 sets of 10 curls- 35 lbs
  • Sprint for 2 minutes, rest, then sprint
  • 3 sets of 10 Squats- 180 lbs or non-weighted
  • 3 sets of 10 pull-ups
  • 3 sets of 10 Tricep Pull-downs- 50 lbs

At the end of the workout I will drink some water and either go on a walk or perform even lighter weighted workouts.

You can use the above workout but as you progress feel free to alternate and tweak what you do.

Once again this is for you so make sure you are doing whatever helps you.

Mindfulness-

There are plenty of articles and videos out there on Mindfulness, but I have found a way that works best for me.

Instead of spending hours on Google trying to find the best way to do it I just took a few pointers and then designed my own way of doing it.

I have a set of affirmations that I say that help bring me back to the moment.

I’m not going to go over what my affirmations are because I want you to create your own that will work for you.

To create an affirmation you can start by using the following layout, “I am _______________”.

It is up to you to feel the blank. Another thing that I do is look in the mirror while I say my affirmations.

Call me crazy but I have conversations with myself.

By becoming aware of where you are/what you are doing it allows you to get out of your head and be in the moment.

Do what you feel is right and do not let your judgments hold you back.

Sex-

That’s right sex helps you to get out of your head.

Other than the many health benefits of sex there are other things that are good for you as well.

I am not talking about just regular sex or going around with everything that spreads its legs.

Instead I mean real and passionate sex.

The type of sex that you can feel hours later. The type of sex that give you an intense euphoric feeling.

To achieve that type of sex you must lose yourself. You must forget about all judgements, worries, and anxieties. Let out the inner beast or freak within.

If you are a guy make your woman feel like your woman. Go hard and let them feel your power.

If you are a woman let your man take you and trust him. Let go of your anxiety of how you look or if he will like this or that.

Go on a walk-

The final method that I will list for you is going on a walk. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone for a nice walk in the middle of the night or early morning.

There is something special about being alone with nature that just allows you to really get out of your head.

I recommend bringing a notebook and pen or just keeping your phone with you so that you can write down any of the ideas that come to you.

Go to a place where you won’t be disturbed and just let go and walk.

Luckily where I live there are hardly any people around plus I can walk around the 18 acres I live on.

There are plenty of woods for me to walk around. Sometimes I will see deer walking around or coyotes howling in the distance. (At least I hope.)

I enjoy walking in the early morning because I get to hear the birds waking up, deer going back into the deep wooded areas, and other animal grateful for another day.

There is really nothing to going on a walk. It doesn’t take much time and you will feel better once you come back.

Now you have it.

Even though you have probably been stressing trying to figure out how to get out of your head you should now realize that you already knew how to do it.

Take my methods and then tweak them to your liking.

Remember to not get lost in the process and instead just execute. I have faith in you.

Until next time Go and Dominate.

  1. That is why you get consent. If you have a girlfriend this would work best. But if it is some random girl then yes you do run the risk of those charges.

  2. Glad you enjoyed the article Andrew. These methods really do work for me and should be able to help all who read this post.

  3. Great suggestions Sergie – I really find working out to be a wonderful way of clearing my head. It’s like a reset button on my day, and it also means that even if I achieve nothing else, I’ve done at least one productive thing. That knowledge on its own is often enough to take action on everything else I need to get done.

  4. The problem is with increasing rape hysteria around the globe, to have sex to get out of one’s head has become a risky proposition for men.

  6. Good stuff Sergie. I think it’s good to be a little impulsive from time to time, and not be constantly thinking the same tired thoughts. My biggest outlet has always been going to the gym and having intense workouts. When I can’t find some way to shut off for even a little while I can start to break down, so I know the importance.
