You’re too smart for your own good: The 6 Figure Freelancer Edition

I’ve spoken to hundreds of students, clients, and readers over the past 3 years. Quite a few of you think you lack something others have. When the shocking truth is, most of you are too smart for your own good.

Meaning, you can see 50 steps ahead. How what you’re doing could go wrong or right. You’re also great at coming up with good ideas.

That was me once before so I get you.

The issue though is that unless you can dumb it down, you’ll never get paid. Worse yet, you will never live the dream life you know you can. You’ll instead be damned to a lifetime of watching everyone else have all of the fun while you miss out.

It isn’t too late for you so I’m going to give you a head start.

3 of the ONLY things you need as a Freelancer

✅ An offer

✅ A good skillset

✅ Work ethic

Now let me explain each of these before your overactive brain starts rattling off with what I mean.

1) An offer

Making an offer is the simplest yet most important part of the process. Most people just pull an idea out of their ass and then wonder why nobody wants it.

Well first off, it’s shit.

So how can you make an actual offer that people want? Well, it starts with the problem you’re solving. This isn’t something you can just leave up to chance.

As the only chance, you’ll have it losing.

We’re in this game to win it and profit. I’ll be expanding much more on this soon with my friend Jeff Putnam. However, when it comes to freelancing, start with what people are already offering.

YES, there are other methods, but this one is easy. As you can do with an hour of Googling.

If you want to be an email copywriter, graphic designer, Twitter Ghostwriter, or any other of the 10,000 skills?

Start with what other people are already offering. I always find 5 to 10 of the medium to best people in the space. To see who’s the best, see who is spoken highly of. See their entire process from how they market, the client benefits, how they close people, their pricing, etc.

The reason you want to learn this is because you are seeing what already works. STOP trying to invest the wheel and just take the wheel that already works and make it better.

Once you have all of this data, you move to creating your offer.

You take what works and add your spin. Whether that’s more benefits for your clients, better experience, or targeting a different niche. Keep it simple.

Next is your skillset…

2) A good skillset

You don’t want to claim you will double people’s conversions when you’ve never done it. So put lots of energy into building a good skill set. Good meaning you can deliver on what you claim.

Take on clients for free or charge much less if you want. I don’t care. What I do care about though is you getting real world experience. You don’t need to watch another 30 YouTube videos or read more books.

Experience > everything else.

This should take you no more than 30 days to cultivate. REMEMBER you aren’t trying to become the expert here. You are simply gaining the ability to take a client on and give them results.

This leads us to the final piece to creating your dream life…

3) Work ethic

Without a work ethic, the best offer and skill set in the world won’t mean a damn thing. As we live in a physical reality that requires physical effort.

Add to this the fact that nobody is coming to save you.

Heck this email by itself could help you replace your job. Yet if you don’t take action on it, it’s just words on a screen.

So to make this magic work you MUST develop a consistent work ethic.

30 minutes a day or 4 hours a day is up to you.

But you must show up daily.

Stop overthinking.

Start working.

No more being too smart for your own good. It’s stealing your dreams and letting people less intelligent people make more than you. When you could simplify what you’re doing and start living the life that you want.

If you haven’t done so already, sit down and watch the $10,000 Masterclass I put together for you.

It’s over 41-minutes of hard-hitting content to get you paid.
