How to Break Out of Your Comfort Zone

You need some adventure in your life. Sitting at a desk all day destroys your mind and spirit. Even worse you live inside of your comfort zone. So today we’re going to discuss how to break out of your comfort zone and start living.

Of course it’s a balancing act. You will make the most progress when you’re at your desk working. But if you never get outside and go on some kind of adventure, your energy will be limited.

Now of course, I know of ways to manufacture energy on demand. It’s why I can live the same routine for months on end without slowing down.

But I’m here to tell you, going on adventures inject creativity into your veins.

How to Break Out of Your Comfort Zone

You see, if you live the same life on repeat day in and day out you’ll think the same thoughts. For some people this occurs a couple weeks in. For others like myself this happens around the 6 month range.

The thoughts you think generate the ideas and actions you take.

Meaning, you need to be around environments which inspire new ideas. These new ideas will give you highly profitable and magnetized thoughts you can turn into big moves.

It’s why unless I’m doing lots of filming and meetings, you’ll see me going somewhere around the world. Whether it’s checking out the mountains in South America or road trips around Eastern Europe to some luxurious villa.

Life is meant to be lived, not simply to exist in.

And if you get outta your usual environment long enough…

To experience the real world around you, you’ll quickly realize how amazing your life is. Then a funny thing will happen. You can’t wait to return to your usual routine and make moves.

Just this time you’ll be filled with new thoughts which will give you the breakthrough you need.

Of course, if you’re on a budget you’ve gotta get a little creative. What I used to do is go on a road trip to a nearby city and stay in an affordable hotel.

I’d spend the day walking around exploring the city and work from cafes.

You can even stay in your city, just go to places you’ve never been. As I am certain even if you’ve grown up where you’re at now, there are lots of places you haven’t seen.

If you’ve applied my methods, you’ve got money coming in meaning you can book a flight to some far off land.

Here are some of my recommended countries…

  • Poland
  • Croatia
  • Georgia
  • Paraguay
  • Oman
  • Thailand (haven’t been yet, but hear great things)

If you’ve never traveled for a prolonged time, I put together 11 tips for traveling internationally here.

Of course, I’m gonna keep my main spots to myself but you’ve got lots of options above. Go for 7 days minimum. As 2-3 days isn’t enough and damages your ability to enjoy it and focus.

Anyways, I’ve got a flight to catch. I will see you in the next blog post. In the meantime, join me on one of my adventures by joining my newsletter.

Always the best,

Dylan Madden

  1. Your posts are very inspiring. I’m not big into travel, I’m really interested in blooming where I’ve already been planted and taking over where I’m at, but it’s so cool to see a different perspective on that.
